The "20th Ueda Castle Autumn Foliage Festival" held in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, is an autumn festival where history and nature intertwine. For two days, Ueda Castle, a famous Sengoku castle, is colored with vibrant autumn leaves. Exciting stage events will be held, including "Sengoku GIG Kachidoki", a dynamic stage where warrior corps gather from all over Japan, and "Ueda Castle Autumn Foliage Festival (Autumn Campaign)" where powerful drum beats resonate. Furthermore, "Amagafuchi Yokocho" lined with local gourmet food and specialty products will appear, allowing you to savor an autumn moment enjoyed with all five senses. The magical "Autumn Foliage Illumination" will also be conducted, beautifully lighting up the zelkova tree avenue at night. The performance by the "Shinshu Sanada Gun Corps" dressed in red-lacquered armor is also a must-see, where you can watch demonstrations of Sengoku period matchlock gun history and Sanada-style pyrotechnics. The best time to view the autumn leaves at Ueda Castle is typically from late October to late November.
