About this event
This is a geo tour focusing on Mt. Hieda, site of one of Japan's three major mountain collapses. You can view Mt. Hieda from various angles and experience the powerful impact of its massive landslide. Expert commentary will be provided on the mechanism of the major collapse and its geological characteristics. The tour includes lunch and a hot spring bath, and detailed reference materials will be distributed. Starting from the Otari Village Office, the itinerary goes from the Kurokawazawa Yamanokami trailhead toward the summit of Mt. Hieda, followed by bathing and lunch at Suntain Otari, then visits to Matsugamine Observation Deck, Kuruma Riverbed, Kanayabashi Bridge, the Saigetsu Bobo Monument, and returns to the Otari Village Office. A local coordinator (Certified Domestic Travel Itinerary Manager) and guide will accompany the tour to ensure a safe and fulfilling experience. The capacity is 20 participants, with a minimum required group size of 10.
