Stargazing Party (Peeking at the Starry Sky Through Astronomical Telescopes)

The Iizuna History and Culture Museum holds a "Stargazing Party" on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month (except December through March). Using a 35-centimeter reflecting telescope, two 10-centimeter telescopes, binoculars, and more, participants can observe the beautiful seasonal night sky. Please take this opportunity to enjoy the brilliance of a starry sky filled with constellations that are usually not visible. The viewing session is held from 19:30 to 21:00 from May to September, and from 19:00 to 20:30 in April, October, November, and the following March. The venue is the 3rd-floor astronomical observation room and 3rd-floor veranda of the Iizuna History and Culture Museum. Admission is free, but the event may be canceled in case of inclement weather (such as rain or overcast skies). The decision on whether to proceed will be made by 18:00 on the day. Please note that admission restrictions may be implemented if there are many visitors. The scheduled dates for fiscal year 2026 are Saturday, September 12 and Saturday, September 26.
