About this event
Held from September 5 to 27, 2026, at OKB Gallery Ogaki in Ogaki City, 'Exhibition and Practice: "The Craft of Living - Stone, Wood, Earth"' is an exhibition focusing on the expressions of artists pursuing cross-disciplinary themes through different materials as media. As a new challenge in visual culture, by making invisible stories visible and creating multisensory experiences, it expands artistic practice from the intersection of life theory, ecological aesthetics, and philosophy of technology. This is not merely an exhibition, but can be called a manifesto of sensibility. Associate Professor Miki Okubo serves as curator, with Tomoya Ishibashi, Mio Takeyama, and Azusa Yoshimoto participating as exhibiting artists. During the exhibition period, diverse practices will take place, including a DJ event by Mio Takeyama, a water lens making workshop by Tomoya Ishibashi, a rope-braiding workshop by Azusa Yoshimoto, a seed ball making workshop by Florian Gaden, and a cord-making workshop by Kyoko Sugiura. In addition, a lecture titled 'The Craft of Living' and a talk event titled 'Twisting Thread: The Oldest Craft' will also be held, allowing visitors to deeply explore the relationships between materials and life, technology, and culture.
