The "37th Karigane Festival", held in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, will take place at Karigane Park on Saturday, October 3, 2026. In case of stormy weather, it will be postponed to the following day, Sunday, October 4. Highlights of the festival include the powerful "Nage Taimatsu" (torch-throwing) starting from 6:30 PM, and colorful fireworks launched from around 7:30 PM. Various food and retail stalls will open from 12:00 PM, enlivening the festive atmosphere. Stage performances will take place from 2:00 PM, offering entertainment that showcases local character. Traffic restrictions will be in effect from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Applications to participate in the torch-throwing are accepted until Friday, September 11, and same-day walk-in participation is not permitted. Photography using drones is prohibited. The decision and detailed information on whether the event will be held will be posted on the official Instagram of the Iwamatsu District Community Development Council around 6:30 AM. Fireworks will be launched at 7:00 AM on the day if the event is to be held. Cooperation in taking trash home is also requested.
