Okabe Town Tono Cosmos Festival

In the fallow fields of the Tono district in Okabe Town, Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, pink and red cosmos flowers bloom in abundance across approximately 30,000 square meters. The lovely cosmos field, carefully tended by local volunteers, typically reaches peak bloom from early October to early November. A mochimaki (rice cake throwing) event will be held at the opening ceremony, and during the festival period, visitors can enjoy fresh locally harvested vegetables for sale as well as cosmos flower picking (for a fee) to take home fresh blooms. Roadside Station "Gyokuro no Sato" (Michi-no-Eki Gyokuro no Sato) is located about 300 meters away, offering dining facilities and souvenir shops. Free parking is available. The peak viewing period is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
