The "Obata Festival" held in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, is an event that lights up the summer night sky on the grounds of Obata Junior High School in Obata-cho, the final post town on the Sangu Kaido highway. In addition to the fireworks display, stage events such as "Kiyari-uta" songs sung during the Grand Shrine of Ise's Shikinen Sengu ceremony and the Obata Karaoke Contest can be enjoyed. In addition, a portable shrine (mikoshi) procession and two candy tosses enliven the venue, with approximately 40 night stalls lining the area and bustling with many visitors. The festival begins at 17:00, and fireworks are launched from 20:30 to 21:00.
