Held in Meiwa Town, Ora District, Gunma Prefecture, the '2026 Meiwa Festival' culminates in fireworks illuminating the night sky as the festival's climax. At the venue, Meiwa Town Furusato Plaza, various events such as stage shows, Bon Odori dancing, and a grand lottery will take place. In particular, the launch of 5,130 fireworks by Marugo Co., Ltd.—a pyrotechnics company with an impressive track record of winning the Prime Minister's Award at the 2007 Tsuchiura All Japan Fireworks Competition and the 2022 Omagari Fireworks—raises great expectations. Fireworks are scheduled to be launched from 20:00 to 20:30. Additionally, a new 'Relaxed Space Viewing Area' is introduced this year, providing a comfortable space to enjoy the fireworks without worrying about surrounding crowds. Paid viewing seats are also available, including a plan for up to 4 people per group at 15,000 yen with all-you-can-drink and hors d'oeuvres. On the day, free shuttle buses will operate from the East Exit of Kawamata Station on the Tobu Isesaki Line to near the venue, providing convenient access. In case of stormy weather, only the fireworks will be postponed to Saturday, September 19. At the venue, Mei-chan bean-patterned hand towels (mameshibori) will be gifted to the first 300 visitors at the headquarters tent from 17:30, and from 18:01 there is a program where everyone dances the 'Shin Meiwa Ondo' in front of the stage. In the past, 'Drawing Fireworks,' where fireworks designed by participants were actually launched, were also held.
