About this event
Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture, developed through a deep connection with water, founded on paddy field agriculture utilizing the Yasu River and fishing in Lake Biwa. This special exhibition showcases excavated cultural properties related to lakes, rivers, and water from Yasu City, which holds such a historical background. Major exhibits introduced include boat-shaped ritual objects (funa-gatashiro), boat models, boat-shaped haniwa clay figures, Sue ware pottery, and stone harvesting knives. Through these valuable materials, visitors can experience the history and culture of the region's life with water.
