Held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, the 5th Oumi Fireworks Festival is a cozy, community-driven fireworks display that began during the COVID-19 pandemic when local children expressed their wish to see fireworks. This year marks its 5th edition. The fireworks are scheduled to start at 19:30 and will proceed in light rain. The venue is located in Ado-cho, Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, with headquarters set up at Ado Kaikan. Parking will be provided at Oumi Certified Center for Early Childhood Education and Care, but viewing will not be permitted at the former Oumi Municipal Center, which was previously a popular viewing spot. It is an ideal event for families to look up at the night sky and make wonderful memories while enjoying the pleasant autumn breeze.
