About this event
Held across 4 facilities in the Tondabayashi Jinaimachi area, the 'Reiwa 8 (2026) 10th Memorial Event for Ishigami Tsuyuko' is an event to remember Tsuyuko Ishigami and honor her achievements. On the day of the event, Part 1 is themed around Meiji-period children's songs from Tondabayashi, and Part 2 features a lecture by Osaka Prefecture University Professor Emeritus Hiroyuki Yamanaka titled 'Regarding Marriage and Divorce Turmoil of a Merchant Family in Late Edo Period Tondabayashi: Through the Records of Shinzou Nobumichi.' Additionally, at the Former Sugiyama Family Residence, there will be a special exhibition period displaying items such as a homongi kimono inscribed with tanka poems written in Tsuyuko's own hand. Why not take this opportunity to step into the world of Tsuyuko Ishigami and reflect on the history and culture of Tondabayashi?
