Japanese name:「富田林はりんこ」張り子絵付け体験イベント

📅 Sat, Oct 17, 2026

📍 Tondabayashi, Osaka

About this event

This is a hariko (paper mache) painting experience event hosted by "Harinko," a paper mache studio launched as a new venture by Augsburg Design, a design production company operating in Wakamatsu-cho, Tondabayashi City. Through hand-crafted paper mache works, it aims to foster local industry development and job creation in Tondabayashi. At this event, participants can freely paint a paper mache maneki-neko (beckoning cat) with paints to create a one-of-a-kind original lucky cat. There are 3 types of beckoning cats to choose from: a beginner version with only the face left unpainted, a gold base, and a calico cat base. All tools are provided, and you can take your completed creation home. Through paper mache making, the event aims to let local residents and visitors to Tondabayashi experience the joy of paper mache craft, raise awareness of hariko, and connect with potential collaborators and creators. The event will be held on the 2nd floor of Kirameki Factory, a tourism exchange facility in front of Tondabayashi Station. Young children can participate when accompanied by a guardian, and observing only is also permitted.
