Kitasukematsu Shopping Street Children's Flea Market
Japanese name:北助松商店街 子どもフリーマーケット
📅 Tue, Nov 3, 2026
About this event
Only children can buy and sell! A flea market where children play the leading role will be held in the Kitasukematsu Shopping Street. Children can experience turning their cherished toys, books, clothes, and other items into treasures for someone else. They will set prices themselves, display their items, and call out "Welcome!" Through experiences such as thinking about how to convey value so people will buy and deciding what to choose with their own money, they can enjoy learning the importance of things, money, and communication. This event aims to support children's challenges and hopes that the encounters and experiences at the shopping street will serve as small catalysts for the future. On the same day, the "Shoren Waiwai Festa" will be held concurrently, making the shopping street even livelier. Stallholders are limited to 3rd to 6th graders of elementary school by advance application (lottery). Shopping is open to children up to 6th grade of elementary school, with no reservation required. It is a valuable opportunity for children to independently conduct transactions using real currency.
