17th Shio-Ashiya Aquathlon

Held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the Minami-Ashiyahama area (Minami-Ashiyahama Ryokuchi, Shio-Ashiya Beach) of Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, the "17th Shio-Ashiya Aquathlon" is an event where participants can enjoy swim and run competitions while feeling the sea breeze of Shio-Ashiya in a nature-rich environment that hardly feels like an urban area. It features a pleasant run course that was recently renovated and an open-water swim course at Shio-Ashiya Beach. Marking its 17th edition, the event offers a wide range of categories from junior to general/para and relay, welcoming many challengers from children to adults. The competition categories include Junior (3rd/4th grade elementary, 5th/6th grade elementary, junior high school), General/Para (high school age and older) Group A, Group B, and Relay, with distances tailored to each level. Participation fees vary by category, with discounts for Ashiya residents and TRIJ registrants. Awards are also detailed for each category, promising heated competition. On the day of the event, following athlete registration, the opening ceremony, and the race briefing, the competition begins at 9:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 1:00 p.m. Closing and dismissal will be around 2:00 p.m. Applications will be accepted online via MSPO ENTRY from Monday, June 15, to Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Various payment methods such as credit card, convenience store payment, ATM, and Pay-easy are available. Early application is recommended as entries will close once capacity is reached.
