About this event

As Hirokawa Town's largest event, the '41st Hirokawa Festival' will be held around the Hirokawa Government Building on Sunday, October 11, 2026 (Reiwa 8). It takes place from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM; it will proceed in case of light rain, but will be canceled in severe weather. The festival features a baby crawling race and recruitment of volunteer staff, bringing local residents together to energize the festival. The baby crawling race is open to non-walking infants residing in Hirokawa Town and is conducted under safety management. Volunteer staff handle overall operational support tasks such as guiding visitors, assisting reception, stage operations, venue management, cleaning and beautification, activity booth support, and emergency assistance. In the past, the 'Wide River Music Festival' was held on the festival's eve, and the main festival featured stage performances and shows by various groups, attracting many visitors. This event enlivens the community through diverse programs including music, dance, and local products.
