On an August weekend echoing with the chorus of cicadas, 'Furumachi Flea Market' marks its 24th edition. The venue is the Carino MS Building (former Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Kumamoto Branch), an early Showa modernist architectural building. Leaving the summer heat behind outside the door, you can take your time browsing items inside the air-conditioned building. Vendors gathered from all across Kyushu will display vintage tools, antiques, vintage clothing, accessories, general goods, groceries, and more. The Furumachi area will also be bustling this weekend. Encountering one-of-a-kind treasures is a special opportunity limited to these 2 days.
