Mount Kinpo Challenge Trail 2026

About this event

A trail running competition set on Mount Kinpo (elevation 665m) towering in Nishi Ward, Kumamoto City. It is a locally rooted event running through rich nature, offering 4 categories suitable for everyone from beginners to serious runners. In the Parent-Child Run (approx. 3.6 km), you can enjoy nature together with your child, while the General Run (approx. 12.8 km) offers a full-fledged trail experience aiming for the summit. A Trekking category (approx. 12.8 km) enjoyable even for those who are not fond of running and a With-Pet Run (approx. 3.2 km) where you can run together with your pet dog have also been newly established. Starting and finishing at Kinpo Mori no Eki Michikusakan, the course circles the North Ridge Trail, Yamagara Village, Sarusuberi Course, the summit, the West Ridge Trail, Iwato Kannon, and more. The spectacular view from the summit is exceptional, making this an event to fully savor the charm of Mount Kinpo.
