On Tuesday (national holiday), November 3, 2026, the "Music, Handmade Crafts, and Food Volunteer Festival 2026" will be held at the Hirakawa City Hall Building No. 2 in Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture. It is an exchange event featuring music stages such as Neputa music accompaniment (hayashi) and band performances, along with sales of handmade items, crafting experiences, and delicious gourmet food. At the venue, hands-on activity booths enjoyable for children and adults alike and exhibition corners introducing volunteer activities will also appear. Through music, handcrafts, and food, it will be a day to interact with local people and become familiar with volunteer activities. Admission is free, while purchases of items such as food and beverages require payment. In the stage program, Neputa music by Shin Neputa Shudan Warahando, band performances by the Hirosaki Gakuin University Light Music Club, and Neputa music by Daisuke Takenami will be presented. Free karaoke scoring will also be held, with prizes prepared for high scorers. At the food and gourmet booths, you can enjoy a wide selection from meals to sweets, including hamburgers, French fries, bread, crepes, natural yam (jinenjo) takoyaki, fried noodles (yakisoba), handmade cookies, freshly brewed coffee, and hamburger steak curry. At the handmade craft and retail booths, sales of handmade goods and foods are planned, featuring bead accessories, handmade general goods, hand-knitted scarves and hats, Saori-woven bags and stoles, and shiitake mushrooms. At the activity booths, visitors can enjoy on-site toy repairs, Kogin-zashi embroidery crafting, bead accessory crafting, slime and rolling-egg crafting, decorated bead custom goods crafting, panel exhibitions of volunteer activities, and disaster-relief goods exhibitions and demonstrations. Experience contents and items for sale are subject to change depending on conditions on the day.
