Celebrating its 35th year, the "Jozenji Street Jazz Festival" is an autumn tradition that transforms the city streets of Sendai into music stages. Professional and amateur artists from across Japan and overseas gather to fill Sendai's streets with diverse genres of music, ranging from jazz to rock, pop, world music, gospel, and classical music. In 2026, it is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, across roughly 40 locations throughout central Sendai. Wrapping the entire city in music, this festival is an irresistible event for music lovers that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
