About this event
"TOHOKU REGENERATIVE FOOD FESTIVAL" is a food festival that aims to regenerate the environment through food. It will be held for two days on October 3 and 4, 2026, at Nishi Park Central Square in Aoba Ward, Sendai City. Co-hosted by Tohoku University of Art and Design and Sendai City, this event adopts "regenerative" as its core concept. Regenerative is a term expressing the intention not only to "protect" the environment, but to actively "restore and regenerate" it, steering the future in a better direction. At this festival, chefs and restaurants practicing regenerative approaches from across the six prefectures of Tohoku will participate, allowing visitors to experience the new appeal of food while connecting with nature and the background in which ingredients were raised. The venue features four villages: the "Restaurant Village," where 12 chefs from Tohoku's six prefectures gather to serve exclusive 6-course meals created just for this day; the "Talk Session Village," featuring producers, culinary experts, artists, researchers, and companies practicing regeneration; as well as the "Market Village" and "Learning Village." Admission is free. This event will serve as a venue for new encounters to envision the future of food and local communities.
