The 59th Mito Bush Clover Festival

About this event

Bush clover flowers, said to have been planted when Mito Domain's 9th Lord Nariaki Tokugawa founded Kairakuen, color Kairakuen in autumn. Inside the garden, around 750 bush clover plants—mainly Miyagino bush clover, as well as white bush clover, mountain bush clover, and round-leaf bush clover—compete in bloom, offering visitors elegant autumn scenery. During the period, in addition to a magical 'Bush Clover Illumination' and commemorative 'Photo Spots,' an event titled 'Kairakuen Autumn Evening' is scheduled for Saturday, October 3. (In case of rain, this event will be postponed to the next day, Sunday the 4th.) Admission to Kairakuen's main garden is 320 yen for adults, 160 yen for children, and 160 yen for seniors aged 70 and over (group discounts available for 20 or more people), with a separate fee required for Kobuntei. Opening hours are 6:00 to 19:00 until September 30, and 7:00 to 18:00 starting October 1, though hours may change depending on events.
