About this event
"Super Spicy Festa 2026" will be held in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture. This event is a new regional festival themed around the "heat" and "spiciness" of Isesaki City, known as Japan's hottest town. Food stalls from restaurants inside and outside the city will line the venue offering their signature extra-spicy dishes, and the "Super Spicy Grand Prix" will be decided by visitor votes. In addition, a "Chilled Booth" will be set up where visitors can cool off after eating spicy food, designed so that people who dislike spicy food or small children can also enjoy the festival. PR booths by local businesses and organizations will also be featured to showcase the charms of Isesaki and the initiatives of local companies and groups. Some of the chili peppers used in the event are planned to be grown locally in Isesaki City through agriculture-welfare collaboration. High school and university students are primarily involved in the planning and operation, aiming to create a venue connecting local restaurants, businesses, young people, and citizens. Through this event, organizers aim to promote local restaurants, expand the interacting population, create opportunities for youth to shine, revitalize the local community, and promote agriculture-welfare cooperation. In the future, the goal is to develop Isesaki into "the town where you can enjoy the heat the most in Japan."
