Saga Prefecture x Minato City Collaboration Project: 'The 80th Year Encore - A Flower Mark for Your Future -'

About this event

Junior high and high school students from Saga Prefecture and Minato Ward will collaborate to perform a play themed on Saga Prefecture and Minato Ward titled 'The 80th Year Encore - A Flower Mark for Your Future -'. With the keyword of Minato Ward's 80th municipal anniversary in March 2027 (Reiwa 9), the story portrays the dreams of girls from Saga Prefecture and Minato Ward connecting across 80 years. The 'Takanawa Embankment' (Takanawa Chikutei), a historical railway project led by Saga Prefecture's prominent figure Shigenobu Okuma and the catalyst for the collaboration declaration, also appears as a key element of the story. In the play, the drama club of Saga Prefectural Saga Higashi High School and the dance club of Minato Municipal Roppongi Junior High School will perform a collaboration. As part of a project based on the collaboration declaration, this theatrical performance aims to widely communicate the historical value of the Takanawa Embankment and other subjects to residents of the Tokyo metropolitan area. In the past, plays such as 'Compass of the Sun - Laying Steam Trains Across the Sea -' and 'The Day You Sing with the Sea' were staged, making this the 3rd edition this fiscal year. This theatrical initiative began in fiscal 2024 (Reiwa 6), and from fiscal 2025 (Reiwa 7), the Saga Higashi High School Drama Club and schools in Minato Ward have collaborated, fostering exchanges among children.
