About this event

The "30th Anniversary Meguro Pacific Saury Festival: Meguro no Sanma Yose," to be held at Meguro Central Square on Sunday, September 13, 2026, is a cultural event serving as the opening event for the Meguro Pacific Saury Lottery, where visitors can enjoy a diverse program of rakugo and manzai comedy, including the classic rakugo story "Meguro no Sanma." The event is split into two parts on the day, each featuring performances by different artists. Part 1 features Atariya, Yoshiyuki Tatekawa, El Sharakani, and Shiraku Tatekawa; Part 2 features Baisen Mame, Shiraku Ryutei, Yamaguchi-kun and Takeda-kun, and Kissho Sanyutei. The venue is "Bunka no Hiroba" (Culture Plaza) on the 1st floor of Meguro Central Square, facing the Meguro Station East Exit roundabout. Admission is free, but each session has a capacity of 170 people with complete rotation (clearing the venue between parts). In addition, a giveaway campaign will be held where attendees can win assorted gift sets of specialty goods from familiar partner organizations, allowing visitors to enjoy shopping, laugh at the yose comedy, and fully relish the autumn "Meguro Pacific Saury." Please note that there will be no free distribution of grilled or raw Pacific saury.
