The 2nd Nakameguro Bon Odori Festival 2026

'The 2nd Nakameguro Bon Odori Festival 2026' will be held over two days on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Funairiba in Nakameguro, Meguro Ward, Tokyo. This year introduces live singing ondo chants to further enhance the charm of Bon Odori. Doors open at 1:00 PM on both days, with food trucks opening at 1:00 PM to sell yakisoba, kebabs, candied apples, and more. In addition, a children's game stall area will open from 4:00 PM for 200 yen per turn, featuring yo-yo balloon fishing and target shooting. The Bon Odori dancing takes place from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, where participants can dance around the yagura stage to the rhythm of live vocal ondo songs. The festival's concept is 'Dance, connect, become one town,' making it a community-participation event where people connected to Nakameguro, from children to seniors, interact through Bon Odori. Prior to the festival, a total of 4 practice sessions will be held to learn the dances. Approximately 13,000 people attended the festival when it was held for the first time last year. The opening time has been expanded from last year's 5:00 PM to 1:00 PM, allowing visitors to spend time at the venue before the evening Bon Odori begins.
