Sumida Mukojima EXPO 2026

About this event

Held from Saturday, October 10 to Sunday, November 1, 2026, across the Kyojima, Yahiro, Bunka, and Mukojima areas of Sumida Ward, Tokyo, the art project 'Sumida Mukojima EXPO 2026' aims to connect the neighborhood's time to the future. Continuing activities that have stayed close to traditional row houses, alleyways, and local residents' lives since the 1998 Mukojima International Design Workshop, this event provides opportunities to experience local culture through contemporary art exhibitions, experiences, and workshops. Rather than merely viewing works, it aims to serve as a space to think alongside local residents about what to pass on and how to live. The general information center 'Uchira no Ima Bunkan' will provide the latest information and handle inquiries. As dates and times vary depending on the program and venue, checking details on the official website is required.
