TENNOZ ART WEEK 2026

About this event

Warehouse TERRADA, in partnership with Tokyo Gendai, will host the walking art event "TENNOZ ART WEEK 2026" in Tennoz. For its 4th edition, held over 4 days from Thursday, September 10, to Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the Tennoz and Warehouse TERRADA surrounding area, a diverse program will unfold to experience the "now" of Japanese contemporary art, including art fairs, open artist studios, specially curated exhibitions, and workshops. At "TERRADA ART COMPLEX," a gallery complex consisting of two renovated warehouses, the art fair "Tennoz Contemporary" will be held, allowing visitors to view diverse artworks presented by domestic and international galleries all at once. In addition, at "TERRADA ART STUDIO Tennoz," normally closed artist production studios will be specially opened for artwork exhibition and sales. WHAT CAFE will host the special joint curation exhibition "u.n.l.o.c.k. tube++" with contemporary artist Noboru Tsubaki as guest curator, exploring the possibilities of "purchasing art and living alongside it" through works by 37 artists. WHAT MUSEUM will offer gallery tours related to special exhibitions and an extended-hour Night Museum, providing opportunities to enjoy architectural exhibitions more deeply. Furthermore, PIGMENT TOKYO will hold a workshop titled "Painting Flowers on Silk Canvas" using traditional Eastern painting materials, allowing participants to experience techniques of Edo-period painters. This event aims to connect Tennoz with the international art scene, broaden touchpoints with contemporary art, and promote further development of Japan's overall art market while strengthening its cultural presence.
