The Shimokitazawa Awa Odori, a quintessential summer tradition representing Shimokitazawa, will be held again this year. Marking its 58th edition, this year's event spans two days on August 22 and 23, bringing together a total of 25 ren (dance troupes), including those based locally, at the Shimokitazawa Ichibangai Shopping Street. Lively chants, the sounds of musical instruments, and powerful dances envelop the shopping street in excitement, allowing you to experience the passionate performance that enlivens the summer night up close. The event will be held in light rain, but may be cancelled in severe weather. The hours are from 18:30 to 20:30, and viewing is free of charge. It is organized by the Shimokitazawa Ichibangai Shopping Street Promotion Association.
