📅 Sat, Oct 3, 2026 - Sun, Oct 4, 2026
About this event
The annual autumn Grand Festival held every year at Tenso Shrine, the guardian shrine of Kyodo. This historic festival brings vibrant energy to the entire neighborhood with children's processions, kagura dance offerings, amateur performances, and the powerful departure (miyadashi) and return (miyairi) of the portable shrine (mikoshi). This year, the Autumn Kids Fest, jointly organized by the fathers' associations of four neighboring elementary schools, will be held concurrently in the adjacent park, creating an event families can enjoy all day long. A unique specialty is the Ataka Bayashi festival music of Kyodo, distinguished by its brisk, energetic tempo and lion dance. Kagura dances performed on the kagura stage will be presented across the two days of the festival eve (Yoimiya) and the main festival, offering a full taste of traditional shrine performing arts. Classic festival food stalls will also line the grounds, adding to the bustling atmosphere.
