About this event
Held on the school grounds of Kamiyugi Junior High School in Hachioji, Tokyo, the "21st Kamiyugi Summer Festival" is a summer tradition created through the cooperation of local residents. A variety of attractions are scheduled, including food stalls, karate, taiko drumming, dance performances, festival music (ohayashi), and Bon Odori dancing. In particular, the grand finale fireworks show "Omoide Hanabi" (Fireworks of Memories) is a must-see. The event is enjoyable for both children and adults, and drawings made by local children will also be on display at the venue. The festival will proceed in light rain but will be cancelled in severe weather. There is no parking available, so arriving on foot or by bicycle is recommended.
