About this event
Commemorating the 130th anniversary of Kenji Miyazawa's birth, the reading planetarium 'Gauche the Cellist' will be held at Sagamihara City Museum. Through a collaboration with the Sagamihara Yaei High School Drama Club, where narrator Katsumi Watanabe serves as an external coach, the coming-of-age story of an awkward young man is portrayed against the starry sky. Accompanied by the beautiful sounds of cello and piano, you can experience a moving dramatic reading inside the immersive space of the planetarium. Two performances will be held, with identical content. During the star commentary, the starry sky of Iwate, Kenji Miyazawa's hometown, will be introduced. As related projects, an introduction to Kenji Miyazawa-related books by librarians and an on-site library card registration session will be held in the museum's multipurpose space, and a special exhibition of works related to Kenji Miyazawa will be held at the City Library.
