About this event
The "53rd Sagamihara Cool Evening Fireworks Festival," popular as a summer tradition in Sagamihara City, will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, upstream of the Takada Bridge on the Sagami River. Approximately 8,000 fireworks will color the summer night sky, and many stalls will line up near Takada Bridge, the venue, allowing visitors to enjoy the festival atmosphere while tasting street food. In the citizen sponsor seating close to the launch site, the appeal is experiencing the powerful fireworks up close. In particular, the Aerial Niagara, Great Starmine, and the "Hyakka Ryoran" (Riot of Flowers) finale are must-see highlights. Originating in 1951 (Showa 26) as the Tana Fireworks Festival and adopting its current name in 1971 (Showa 46), it is a historic fireworks festival that has been loved by many people for over 50 years. Admission to the sponsor area starts at 1:00 PM, and the fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 19:00. In case of severe weather or rising waters of the Sagami River, it may be postponed to the following day, the 6th.
