About this event
The traditional "Uraga Minato Festival" is held in Uraga, a historic port town known for the arrival of Commodore Perry and the opening of Japan. Around Uraga Port, various events such as food stalls and dedication dances unfold, bustling with many people. Decorating the festival's finale are approximately 500 fireworks launched off the coast of Uraga, where Perry's Black Ships once anchored. The fireworks lighting up the night sky bring the festival to an exciting climax. As there is no parking at the venue, arriving by public transportation is recommended. Traffic restrictions will also be implemented on the day, so it is important to allow plenty of time for travel. As cancellations or changes to the schedule may occur depending on the weather, it is recommended to check the event information in advance.
