Japanese name:御前様祭り 白拍子の舞
📅 Wed, Sep 16, 2026
About this event
Held every year on September 16, the 'Gozen-sama Festival' commemorates Hotoke Gozen. As the highlight of this festival, a Shirabyoshi dance is dedicated in front of the statue of Hotoke Gozen. This traditional event originates from the story of Hotoke Gozen, who was renowned in Kyoto during the Heian period as a master dancer and favored by Taira no Kiyomori. In Haramachi, Komatsu City, where the grave and former residence site of Hotoke Gozen still remain, a dance evoking history and culture will be performed. This event serves as a valuable opportunity to pass down her legend in a location closely tied to Hotoke Gozen.
