About this event
Held at the Nomi Furusato Museum, the "Nomifuru Kofun Festival" is an event where visitors can enjoy learning about ancient burial mounds (kofun) and Nomi City. On stage, visitors can enjoy performances including the Awazu Lion Dance (designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Nomi City), nursery school student performances, and concerts by the Nomi Civic Wind Orchestra, NOMI Junior Jazz Orchestra, and Terai Junior High School Brass Band. In addition, there are plenty of ancient-themed experiences such as the exciting earthenware puzzle battle, the Nomi Electric Railway rock-paper-scissors train game, an archery experience challenging ancient hunter skills, and magatama bead crafting. Collaborative booths where you can touch real excavated artifacts and guess their weight in a quiz, as well as the "Nomifuru Rally" where you tour exhibits to answer quizzes, are also available. Furthermore, the torch event & fukiishi paving stone experience offers prayers of gratitude to the kings of the kofun clusters and gives away magatama necklaces. Food trucks will also be on site, providing content to fully enjoy ancient romance and the charms of Nomi City throughout the day.
