Katayamazu Onsen Yu no Matsuri

A festival held to commemorate the opening of Katayamazu Onsen's hot springs. Stalls line the central streets, wrapping the area in the glamorous atmosphere unique to a hot spring town with lion dances, song shows, circle dance contests, and more. Among these, the powerful Genpei Shobu Mikoshi (Genpei match portable shrine) is a must-see highlight. Typically held on a Saturday and Sunday in late August, the Genpei Shobu Mikoshi is scheduled for the first day, and circle dances and other events are scheduled for the second day. Traffic regulations will also be implemented around the venue.
