About this event

This is a special summer vacation project where you can casually experience the nature and traditional culture of Fukui in the downtown area around Fukui Station. It is packed with exciting activities such as parent-child stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) on the Asuwa River, outdoor cooking with fire building, an immersive VR scenic flight over Tojinbo, and making traditional round paper fans using Echizen washi paper. With superb access right around the station, this event helps create special summer memories that both adults and children will love. In the parent-child SUP and fire-building rice cooking experience, even beginners can safely enjoy SUP in the shallows and challenge themselves to start a fire by the riverside. In the Tojinbo experience, visitors can enjoy a VR sightseeing flight that makes you feel as if you are flying through the sky. Inside the station facility, you can experience making suminagashi (marbled) round paper fans with Echizen washi paper to create a one-of-a-kind original fan. Easy to join during spare travel time, it is perfect for summer memories and souvenirs.
