19th Shinshu Matsumoto Soba Festival

The "Shinshu Matsumoto Soba Festival," where you can savor the autumn flavors of Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, will be held again this year at Matsumoto Castle Park. The "Shinshu Local Produce Fair" will be held concurrently, allowing visitors to enjoy not only soba noodles but also local specialties and gourmet foods. Various soba shops are scheduled to open stalls, including "Mori Soba" from Shinshu Yukarian, "Touji Soba" from Aguri Nagawa, and "Zaru Soba," "Walnut Soba," "Tororo Soba," "Sunki Soba," and "Kakiage Soba" from Shinshu Soba Genjiro. In addition, the "Matsumoto Castle Whole Marche" will be held at the same time in Matsumoto Castle Park, featuring a wide variety of food, drinks, and specialties for sale, such as curry, shochu, jasmine tea, gohei mochi, sanzoku-yaki (fried chicken), skewers, mitarashi dango, yakisoba, steak, sausage, alcohol, draft beer, juice, crepes, french fries, 10-yen bread, yakiniku, beef tendon, soft-serve ice cream, beer, apple pie, wine, craft beer, fruit ale, motsu (offal), karaage, mushroom soup, grilled squid, dried fruits, dried fish, bottled milk, candied salmon and char (kanroni), oyaki, soba manju, soba dango, miso sauce dango, galettes, soba beer, soba tea, and wasabi products. At the Soba Festival booths, soba-making tools, wooden crafts, lacquerware, and kitchen knives will also be on sale, providing an opportunity to experience artisan craftsmanship. Admission is free, and access is convenient with a 15-minute walk from JR Matsumoto Station. It is an event where you can fully enjoy autumn tastes and local charms.
