📅 Sat, Aug 1, 2026 - Mon, Aug 31, 2026
About this event
The annual "Shinshu Iizuna Town Yatara Festival" will be held in Iizuna Town. "Yatara" is a traditional home-cooked flavor of northern Shinshu made by finely chopping and mixing summer vegetables such as eggplant, cucumber, myoga ginger, and botan kosho chili pepper with miso-pickled vegetables. This dish is also certified as a "100-Year Food" by the Agency for Cultural Affairs as a culinary culture passed down through generations in the region. During the festival period, limited-time Yatara menus will be offered at dining establishments within the town, allowing visitors to enjoy comparing different variations. In addition, a stamp rally will be held simultaneously where collecting stamps by enjoying Yatara dishes at two participating stores enters you into a drawing to win Iizuna Town specialties. Why not take this opportunity to savor the unique "Yatara" cuisine of Iizuna Town?
