About this event
The '11th Kamezaki Otsukimi Gathering', held every autumn at Kamisaki Shrine in Kamezakicho, Handa City, Aichi Prefecture, will take place from Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27, 2026 (Reiwa 8). This event, where visitors can enjoy moon viewing at the shrine during long autumn nights, is an annual tradition beloved by local residents. Particularly on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, there will be play areas for children, delicious food trucks, and thrilling live musical performances, offering plenty for the whole family to enjoy. Guest stage performances including gagaku court music, saxophone and electone live sets, and street performances are planned. In addition, a moon-viewing tea ceremony and a multi-school ikebana flower arrangement exhibition will be held to provide cultural enjoyment. Visitors can also enjoy stage performances by local community groups, gourmet food stalls, and a children's festival fair. Prior to the event, a bamboo lantern making workshop and entries for a tanka and haiku competition are also being held, allowing participants to unite and create the event together. At night, Yamato-akari illumination will also take place, allowing you to appreciate the moon in a magical atmosphere.
