About this event

The 72nd Special Exhibition 'Castles of Hideyoshi', held at the Shiga Prefectural Azuchi Castle Archaeological Museum, is a special exhibition focusing on the history of Toyotomi (Kinoshita / Hashiba) Hideyoshi, who became a castle lord for the first time in Omi, continued to place great importance on Omi even after becoming the ruler of Japan, and had his vassals build castles there. Through exhibits related to castles associated with Hideyoshi, such as the ruins of Odani Castle and Nagahama Castle, this exhibition delves deeply into their construction, strategy, and connection with Omi. Visitors can trace the path of how Hideyoshi walked the road to national unification and how the land of Omi served as its foundation. Through the exhibits, it will be a valuable opportunity to learn about the appeal of Sengoku period castles, Hideyoshi's ingenuity, and the historical background of the time.
