Held at Ohara Kannon-ji Temple in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, the "Mitsunari Lantern Festival" is a magical lantern release event carrying people's prayers and memorial tributes for Ishida Mitsunari. Set at Ohara Kannon-ji Temple, the historic site where Sengoku period commander Ishida Mitsunari and Toyotomi Hideyoshi are said to have first met, countless lanterns illuminating the night sky offer visitors a deeply moving experience. This festival is organized as part of Maibara City's tourism initiative, "The Toyotomi Brothers as Seen by Mitsunari: A Tale of Encounter and Honor Originating in Maibara", offering an opportunity to connect deeply with local history and culture. Scheduled to begin in the early evening on the day prior to the Mitsunari Festival in Nagahama City, it promises a memorable night lighting up autumn in Maibara.
