The 'Living Architecture Museum Festival Osaka (Ikefes Osaka) 2026' will be held, featuring 224 pieces of notable architecture that grace the city of Osaka. Celebrating its 13th edition this year, a record high of 224 buildings are scheduled to participate, allowing visitors to encounter a wide variety of buildings that showcase Osaka's charm—from historic architecture steeped in time to contemporary buildings with innovative designs and neighborhood coffee shops strongly retaining the Showa era atmosphere. Special public viewings of architectures normally closed to the public and programs such as building commentaries by the owners themselves are also planned. Participation is generally free of charge, with a variety of programs offered including 'Special Openings' where visitors can freely tour the inside of buildings, 'Guided Tours' led by building owners and others, 'Special Tours' exploring multiple buildings under specific themes with expert commentary, as well as talk seminars and hands-on workshops for children. While some programs require advance application, many do not require prior registration and can be joined on the day of the event.
