About this event
The "Ancient Rice Appreciation Gathering 2026" will be held on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the "Kitora Rice Terraces" in Asuka Historical National Government Park in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture. At this event, visitors can enjoy live music, food and drink, markets, workshops, and more while gazing at the ancient "Kanniho" rice turning red under the autumn sun. On Saturday, September 12, food and drink, live music, and workshops will take place from 15:00 to 21:00, with overnight camping also available (advance registration required). On Sunday, September 13, morning yoga, a market, live music, and more are scheduled from 9:00 to 16:00. In particular, the red-tinged ancient rice fields are a major highlight of the event, offering two days to enjoy music, delicious food, and a market featuring assorted miscellaneous goods, accessories, pottery, and natural cosmetics surrounded by nature. The workshops offer programs to enjoy while feeling nature, such as forest ukulele, morning yoga connecting with the earth, and making Kanniho drinks.
