Maebashi Mt. Akagi Hillclimb 2026

Set in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, the "Maebashi Mt. Akagi Hillclimb 2026" will be held as one of Japan's premier hillclimb races, scaling Mt. Akagi—one of the Three Mountains of Jomo. The new course starting from Roadside Station "Maebashi Akagi" presents a challenging setup with a total length of 22.6 km and an elevation gain of 1,238 m. A wide range of categories is available so participants can compete according to their skill level, including Expert, General, Junior, e-bike, and a Challenge Course for kids. The Expert class in particular is a high-level race open only to athletes who have achieved top results in past competitions. Participants will receive a hospitality voucher (valued at 1,500 yen) usable at shops and facilities in the Mt. Akagi Daido district, offering a perk to enjoy the local charm even after the race. On race day, the excitement and determination of the athletes will unfold from early morning, promising fierce competition amid the magnificent nature of Mt. Akagi.
