About this event

Held in Gyoda City, Saitama Prefecture, "Gyoda Tabi Expo" is an event where you can experience the charms of Gyoda, recognized as a Japan Heritage site as "Gyoda, the Town of Tabi Storehouses Supporting the Foundations of Traditional Japanese Clothing Culture" for its historic architecture, streetscapes, and locally inherited culture nurtured by the tabi (traditional split-toe socks) industry. At this expo, many programs will be conducted allowing visitors to walk through the Japan Heritage sites and experience their history and culture firsthand. In particular, the "Town of Tabi Storehouses / Japan Heritage Digital Stamp Rally" utilizes the tourist sightseeing app "Tabinavi Gyoda" to visit 13 constituent cultural properties of the Japan Heritage in the city, offering a reward prize upon checking in. Furthermore, in the "Japan Heritage Town Walk in Gyoda with a Japan Heritage Sommelier", participants can tour the town alongside certified "Japan Heritage Sommeliers" who passed the Japan Heritage Test while listening to easy-to-understand explanations about the constituent cultural properties of the Japan Heritage and Gyoda's history and culture. Other diverse programs unique to the tabi town of Gyoda include talk events, a creators' market, a tabi factory open factory, tabi storehouse film screenings, and a jelly fry making workshop, offering visitors an opportunity to feel closer to the story of Gyoda's Japan Heritage.
