Art Festival "Komoro-mori-more 2026"
Japanese name:芸術祭「Komoro-mori-more 2026」
📅 Sat, Aug 8, 2026 - Mon, Aug 31, 2026
About this event
Set in Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture, with the historic Hokkoku Kaido Komoro-shuku as its venue, the art festival "Komoro-mori-more 2026" is an event where young artists from across Japan participate to fuse art with the local community. Prior to the opening of the 2026 art festival, an opening workshop titled "Hajimari no Kai" will be held to introduce participating artists and serve as the starting point for creating artworks. In this workshop, under the theme "Gather Komoro's Interesting Things," "seeds of art" leading to future works will be created. By bringing together Komoro's scenery, memories, noteworthy places, and events seen from the individual perspectives of people living in and visiting Komoro—whether interested in art or not—this year's artwork creation will take shape. At the venue, exhibitions of past works and information on the "Mori-Sapo" supporter system to enliven the festival together will also be provided. Participation is free, no application is required, and entering and exiting midway is allowed. The main art festival runs from August 8 to August 31, 2026, with 13 artists participating and works exhibited at venues including the historic Hokkoku Kaido Komoro-shuku and the Former Komoro Honjin grounds.
