Motsuji Autumn Leaves Festival: Ennen no Mai Performance

As part of the "Motsuji Autumn Leaves Festival" held at Motsuji Temple, the "Ennen no Mai Performance" will be conducted. This event is a valuable opportunity to experience culture unique to autumn in a historic landscape handed down since the Heian period, set against the backdrop of a beautiful Pure Land garden adorned with autumn foliage. In particular, at the Autumn Fujiwara Festival, "Ennen no Mai," a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, is performed, and its solemn dance deeply moves visitors. During the Autumn Leaves Festival, cosplay events and musical performances are also held, offering a special experience where historical landscapes and contemporary culture merge. In addition, limited-edition "Momiji Omamori" (autumn foliage charms) made of lace are scheduled to be sold. Visitors can quietly appreciate the dance while feeling the atmosphere of the ancient capital, accompanied by the magical scenery of autumn leaves reflecting on the water's surface.
