About this event
This is one of the Kanto region's largest fireworks festivals, held along the clear waters of the Omoi River flowing through central Oyama City. The distance between the launch site and the viewing seats is very close, allowing visitors to experience dynamic fireworks such as continuous launches of shakudama (size-10 shells), wide starmine fireworks, and a citizen-participatory Niagara Falls display. The event starts at 18:00. The venue is the Omoigawa Riverside (downstream of Kanko Bridge), located at Chuo-cho, Oyama City, Tochigi Prefecture. Admission to the fireworks venue is free, but paid viewing seats are also available. The event will be cancelled in case of stormy weather. Attendance last year was 470,000 people.
