About this event

"Otofu Kyogen" (Tofu Kyogen) is a style of Kyogen that brings joy in any setting—just like tofu, which in itself is neither expensive nor high-class, but can become a luxury dish or everyday home cooking depending on the seasoning. In this Kyogen tradition handed down by the Shigeyama Sengoro family, an explanatory segment is provided to make it easy to understand even for first-time Kyogen viewers. In addition, there will also be a workshop where participants can experience the actual movements, and a costume exhibition where visitors can view precious costumes and masks (omote) up close.
